Hi, I'm Alex, and I'm a portrait photographer in the city of Pittsburgh. First, I want to thank you for making your way to this page to learn a little bit about me.
My creativity started at an early age. I really enjoyed doing anything that allowed me to express my imagination through art, whether it was sculpting, drawing or creative writing. I didn’t develop a real passion for photography until high school when I took an elective photography class, but after I got my first DLSR camera (a Nikon D80) on my 17th Christmas, I knew I wanted to pursue it further.
I moved to Pittsburgh from a small town in Pennsylvania and furthered my education at the Art Institute from 2009 to 2011, graduating with an Associate Degree in Photography. Since I was new to the city, I spent hours each week exploring downtown by foot and taking photos of anything and everything – from people, to architecture, to cityscapes from the top of Grandview Avenue.
I quickly learned that I enjoyed photographing life while it’s happening, whether it’s catching an expression at just the right time, or timing that perfect shot of a bird taking flight. I love capturing the genuineness of the candid shots – the natural moments that bring out the real you. And it would be a privilege to capture your moments.
A couple other things about me: I love using natural light, so I prefer to shoot outdoors. Living in the city has turned me in to a big-time "foodie” (Pittsburgh has so many fantastic restaurants – I love trying new places and I’m always up for sharing recommendations!). When it comes to music, I will always pick 90's over Top 40, and I love movies and movie trivia.
If you would like to book a session or have questions, feel free to contact me. I’d love to hear from you!
